Daniel B. Logan, DPM, AACFAS
Dr. Daniel Logan joined Foot & Ankle Specialists of Central Ohio in 2005. A native of Columbus, OH, Dr. Logan attended The Ohio State University as a Glenna-Joyce Scholar and graduated with a degree in Chemistry in 1997. Dr. Logan later graduated Valedictorian of his class at The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (OCPM) in 2002. While at OCPM, Dr. Logan received the Wally Wiseman Surgical Excellence Award for Proficiency and Demonstrated Excellence in Podiatric Surgery. He also received the William F. Todd Award for Excellence in General Medicine and the Timothy Holbrook Memorial Award for Excellence in Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine presented by the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.
Dr. Logan then went on to three years of Surgical Residency Training at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, consistently ranked as one of the best hospitals in the United States. Dr. Logan is now on the residency-training faculty of The Grant Medical Center Podiatric Surgical Residency. He is also an instructor in human anatomy & physiology at Central Ohio Technical College.
Dr. Logan is an Associate of The American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. His specialty interests include lower extremity wound care, treatment of the diabetic foot, foot & ankle sprains and fractures, heel pain and arthritis, reconstructive surgery, and correction of flatfoot in both children and adults.
Dr. Logan received advanced training in plastic surgery techniques as well as peripheral nerve releases used to treat nerve entrapments and diabetic neuropathy (commonly referred to as the "Dellon procedure") at The Orthopaedic Learning Center in Rosemont, Illinois with The American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Logan has also received specialty training in Ilizarov External Fixation and Intramedullary Nail Fixation with The American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Logan also learned the Ponseti technique for treatment of congenital clubfoot at The University of Iowa 2006 Ponseti technique seminar directed by Ignacio Ponseti MD. He now strongly advocates the technique and teaches the technique to residents.
In addition to the above achievements, Dr. Logan is a frequent lecturer on the medical and surgical management of foot & ankle conditions and has authored numerous medical papers for publication. Dr. Logan has a conservative practice philosophy, attempting to treat foot & ankle conditions with conservative therapy such as orthotics, bracing, and physical therapy whenever possible. If conservative therapy is unsuccessful, Dr. Logan is then able to treat many foot and ankle conditions with his advanced surgical training. Dr. Logan is the father of four children and resides in Granville, Ohio.
