
Dr. Alexandra Black was an avid, classically trained ballet and modern dancer with an interest in the performing arts. Her passion for podiatric medicine and surgery started early on after sustaining several lower extremity injuries.
Dr. Black attended Bard College for her B.A. in Biology/Pre-Medicine and graduated Magna Cum Laude honors. She then went on to study at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed her surgical residency training as chief resident at Lenox Hill Hospital Northwell Health in New York.
She is a Fellowship-Trained and Board-Certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon with a focus in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, minimally invasive surgery and trauma. She looks forward to treating patients of all age groups with various foot and ankle pathologies, including sports medicine, fracture care, arthritis, diabetic limb salvage and foot and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Black also has a passion for research with multiple publications in the field of foot and ankle surgery. She practices evidence-based medicine and presents at national conferences. She is also an associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Black enjoys spending time with her cat, husband, friends and family. She enjoys watching sports, travelling and hiking the great outdoors as much as possible!
