Mena Shafiek, DPM

Dr. Mena Shafiek is a Columbus, Ohio native and recently joined the Foot and Ankle Specialists of Central Ohio in 2021. Growing up he was very active in both soccer and basketball. After an ankle injury while participating in sports, he spent most of his time at rehab reading about foot and ankle injuries which sparked his interest in Podiatry.

Dr. Shafiek attended The Ohio State University for his B.S. in Biology/Pre-Medicine. He then spent two years at Nationwide Childrens doing research before he went on to continue his medical education. Dr. Shafiek completed medical school at the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine graduating with honors and is a member of the Pi Delta National Honors Society. After obtaining his doctorate degree he completed a 3-year surgical residency program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. There he received extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including trauma, sports medicine, limb salvage, diabetic foot care, and foot and ankle reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Shafiek is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also an associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is on staff at Grant Medical Center, Dublin Methodist Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, Pickerington Surgery Center, Mount Carmel St. Ann’s, and Fairfield Medical Center.

When not treating patients, Dr. Shafiek enjoys golf, soccer, and college football (especially The Ohio State Buckeyes). He enjoys watching and attending sporting events whenever possible and spending time with his wife and daughter.
